At the heart of everything we do is our people. We're a close-knit team that feels more like family, genuinely caring for one another and taking pride in our craft. That dedication, paired with more than five decades of experience, is woven into every project we produce and every lasting partnership we build. We are proud to have a team of expert upholsterers and seamstresses, many of whom began their careers with us and have remained dedicated members of our company throughout their working lives, with plans to retire here.
Jules Finucane
Principal & CEO
With a business background from the University of Toronto, Jules brings a thoughtful blend of business acumen, creativity, and a lifelong passion for textiles to her work. Her deep interest in the craft of textiles has been complemented by many years of dedicated study in yoga and breathwork in India, cultivating a strong appreciation for mindfulness and intentional leadership.
Jules feels incredibly fortunate to bring this unique combination of expertise and perspective to her role, leading a very talented team at The Works with both precision and compassion. She believes that great work is created through a balance of high standards, collaboration, and genuine care for the people behind it.
Katharine Edwards
Special Advisor
Katharine has nearly 35 years experience in the field of window treatments, having trained in the UK where she had a workroom specializing in hand sewn curtains. Katharine moved her workroom to her home town of Vancouver over 22 years ago and for the past 15 years has been using the talented team at The Works to create beautiful curtains and blinds while she concentrates on project management. Recognising the need in Vancouver for training in the field of window treatments for designers, Katharine welcomes the opportunity to pass on her knowledge and experience.
In her spare time, Katharine has dedicated 10 years to the martial arts, studying the Don Jitsu Ryu system where she is 1st Degree Black Belt.
